    Riding Gravel for Cancer Research

    My Goal

I'm riding my bike over 6000km on gravel roads and trails, climbing over 230,000 feet of vertical in an effort to raise awareness and funding for much needed Cancer Research.

    My 2022 Rides

This Campaign will include 3 challenging multi-day off road rides.

    1. RIDE 1 - First I'm going to ride the entire length of Vancouver Island, B.C. on gravel roads in four days.  An approximate distance of 700kms with 40,000 feet of climbing.
    2. RIDE 3 - Then I will take part in an unsupported, non-stop off road bike race starting in Merrit and finishing in Fernie BC, covering a distance of 1000kms.  https://www.bcepic1000.com
    3. RIDE 3 - Then, I will be riding the entire 4400kms of the Great Divide route from Banff Canada to Mexico in just 21 days. https://bikepacking.com/routes/great-divide-mountain-bike-route-gdmbr/

    Why?

I'm a husband, a father, a business owner, a member of the community and I want to give back.  I've never had cancer but I've lost countless loved ones to this disease.

I want you to know that I'm not new to this Cancer research fundraising thing and with your support I believe it's possible to reach this lofty target.  Over the past 8 years I have had the privilege of being a part of the Ride2Survive team that rides 400km in a single day from Kelowna to Vancouver, British Columbia.  The Ride2Survive has been Canada's largest independent cancer fundraiser period!  Raising millions of dollars for desperately needed research and cancer treatments.  Unfortunately for many logistical reasons that ride is no longer occurring, but the creed and determination born from it continues.  So it's under that banner and with their philosophy of 100% efficiency I am taking on this Fundraiser.

Thank you in advance for your generous support.

Let's raise $100,000 for Cancer Research!

COVID 19 has meant the cancellation of large group gatherings and important fundraising events. The inability to gather together has meant the cancellation many large fundraising events for many charities.  These events are the "life blood" of funding much needed research.   Cancer doesn't care about pandemics, it doesn't where a mask it NEVER socially distances, but the need for lifesaving research and treatments continues unabated.  This year, two years before it,  millions of dollars of desperately needed funding will not get raised unless we do something. I'm hoping to offset this shortfall the only way I know how....Riding my bike!
